10/2012  Enrollment for Medicare Part D is open through December 7th 2012. Seniors who
are having difficulty getting their medications under their current prescription drug plan have an
opportunity to switch plans during Medicare Part D open enrollment, which runs through Dec. 7.
During open enrollment, Medicare patients should review their current prescription drug coverage
and determine whether another plan would meet their needs better. The National Council on Aging
offers an
easy-to-use website that walks seniors step-by-step through the process of evaluating
their current plan and selecting a new one. Seniors can
compare Medicare plans in their area
through the official
Medicare website. You can also download a pocket reference guide to help
answer questions about drug coverage and enrollment.  Patients who do not wish to change their
plan for 2013 need not take any action.

2. You must have been without health coverage for at least the last six months. Please note that if
you currently have insurance coverage that doesn’t cover your medical condition or are enrolled in
a state high risk pool, you are not eligible for the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan.
3. You must have a pre-existing condition or have been denied coverage because of your health
condition.
